10 Juli 2019 Kawasaki’s summer of freedom, excitement and thrills

Summer is here and many riders’ thoughts are turning to motorcycle touring holidays. With so many destination options across Europe, it’s fitting that Kawasaki has a three bike line up in the litre class Sports Touring sector offering an incredible range of choice, rider features and performance characteristics; proving that there is a genuine alternative to the Adventure bike category.

With an engine platform based on the zestful Z1000, the Z1000SX has quickly carved a reputation as a true sporting tourer with an apex attacking personality and accessory luggage capacity that literally created a new motorcycle category when the model line was originally launched. A sporting yet day-long riding position allied to aggressive angular looks appealed immediately to riders demanding a “one bike answer” to their weekday sport riding and weekend long distance needs. And with the stylish clean mount colour coded accessory panniers removed, the angular sporting lines of the Z1000SX re-emerge combining well with a rev-hungry engine that provides typical Kawasaki levels of feedback and excitement.

Again in a very select category, the Versys 1000 is the Kawasaki “any roads” litre class offering. Available for 2019 with semi-active electronic suspension front and rear, the Versys 1000 SE offers a commanding upright riding position from which to view countries and continents passing by. With a vast specification and array of electronic rider aids, the SE variant of the familiar Versys 1000 features touring benefits such as bodywork mounted cornering lights, electronic cruise control and selectable riding modes which, like numerous other functions, can be reviewed and revised via Smartphone using Kawasaki’s Rideology App linking owner to machine in a new, innovative way.  An “any weather, any roads” bike, the Versys also benefits from an adjustable screen plus, for those early touring starts, adjustable heated handlebar grips.

The third and, arguably, the pinnacle of the Kawasaki offering of three diverse and highly accomplished Sports Touring machines is the awesome Ninja H2-SX which is available for 2019 as an SE+ model offering the most advanced semi-active electronic motorcycle suspension system currently available.  Assessing road conditions and making minute adjustments in microseconds, the suspension and handling poise compliment the unique feature of the Ninja H2-SX, the incredible “balanced” Supercharger made totally in-house by Kawasaki. Offering a refined balance between torque, fuel economy and incredible forced induction performance, the integrated Supercharger sets what is already a formidable machine apart from all other Sports Tourers.

When motorcyclists choose to go touring they dream of freedom, excitement and thrills. With a choice of three sports touring machines from Kawasaki – each with their own unique characteristics – that dream can now become reality.
